"I didn't know what the hell you two were--," heated words overlapped, tripped past each other, amped up voices layering fuzzily when Tim's quiet utterance of his name wound around his chest and reeled him back. Dick tore his eyes off Jason and turned to Tim instead, brows drawing all over again at the quiet turmoil he saw threading through that face and body. He saw that hand lifting to reach out for him, but a curse slid out under his breath as Jason continued, and he whipped back around, taking a step toward where his other brother had practically crumbled against the wall.

"I don't, Jason, and you know it. Everything that we did earlier this week is still real." He was trying his best to stay level, to be patient, but irritation clearly underlined his tone, especially when he glanced back at Tim and saw him reaching for the grapple.

"Don't," he warned, gloved hand reaching out to push Tim's hand back down instead.

"Look." A sigh wove through the word. "I interrupted, okay? I'm sorry. I reacted before I figured out what was going on and I shouldn't have. I got--" He swallowed hard before continuing. "Scared." Both hands floated up to his sides, palms open and vulnerable.

"I know it's in the past but I couldn't get the thought of Tim bleeding out outta my head and I just reacted." That wasn't the whole story, but the whole story would never see the light of day, especially not now that something good was happening between them. "So I'll let you two get back to it now, alright?"
